Why You Should Never Give Up On Healing, Part 2: Redefining Health

Welcome! This is Part 2 of a 3-Part series to help you understand the possibilities when it comes to healing and living the life you long for! If you missed Part 1, you can read it HERE.

You have a program on your website that says “Finally stop trying, worrying and spending thousands of dollars on medicine that isn’t helping and techniques that don’t work and get to the root of the problem…,” tell me more about that program!

That’s the Pain-Free and Joyful Life Program. I developed the program after working with clients for over 11 years, incorporating what I learned from healing my own chronic pain. It’s a combination of powerful weekly Myofascial Release sessions (the missing link to our healthcare), support, and practical, effective healing tools that help clients understand why they weren’t healing. We’ll get to the root of the problem and provide you with life long tools for better health. It’s a transformational program for someone who is ready to let go, dive deep and finally heal.

In the program, I teach you meditation, body awareness techniques, grounding techniques, journaling and provide a safe non-judgmental space for processing, insights and awareness. Safe space is such a huge component for true healing. Our body heals in the present time. My ability to stay present and non judgmental guides clients into their own present state where physical, spiritual and emotional healing occurs.

It is amazing to witness clients in this program transform their lives and sometimes it hasn’t only been with clients that have pain. This program has helped women who were feeling stuck in their lives take action and move forward. It helped them heal what was holding them back so they could live life fully again. Clients report gaining clarity and a deep sense of calm during and after the program. They reduce or eliminate pain, feel stronger, have more energy and feel comfortable in their own body.

Like my client Kelly shared;

Before starting the program, my neck, shoulders and chest were tight. When lifting my chin or turning my head to either side, the movement was restricted and even my skin felt stretched. Emotionally and physically, I was feeling very stuck. My energy was almost entirely devoted to taking care of other people ahead of my own needs and consequently, I was feeling run down and unhappy.

I signed up with the intention of doing something for myself. I wanted to feel more at ease physically and also work on improving my self-care. My lifestyle had become very sedentary and it was so hard to muster the motivation to do any kind of activity. I tend to go to extremes; either I’m at the gym 12 hours a week or I’m on the couch 8 hours a day. I was looking to the MFR sessions to help me find balance and a path to wellness that was gentler.

The MFR sessions have helped my amenorrhea caused by PCOS. I could go months and months without a cycle, but after a few MFR sessions, it always starts and I feel so much better. The work has a way of helping my body find its rhythm and balance.

Emotionally, I felt lighter after our series. There was so much emotional baggage that I had been holding onto physically. I feel like I can move forward now unencumbered by these old traumas. It wasn’t always easy to go through the process, but Jessica was a tremendous support. Having a separate time to check in with her between MFR treatments was great because often things came up after I left the office, or even days later, and it was really helpful to have that time to discuss it.

How do you redefine healing?

I believe healing… true authentic healing, is going beyond curing symptoms. Authentic healing gets to the root of the symptoms. Authentic healing goes beyond the physical pain. It takes being brave to dive deep into different aspects of your life and go out of your comfort zone. Healing doesn’t happen in our comfort zone and it is not linear. I believe healing can take time and has a path. It is peeling back the layers of pain, tightness and traumas that have been there for decades. To heal we need to take a look and feel at some of the ways we can been living our lives and most of the time make a change or shift into a new healthy way of living. One that is more supportive for us now.

During the part one of the blog you mentioned an experience called unwinding that shifted you and your clients, can you share more about that?

Yes! During my first myofascial release seminar, I had a profound and powerful experience. We learn a technique then partner up to practice it. There are helpful assistants that walk by to help with the techniques. It is a real warm environment for learning and growing. It was my turn to receive the technique. I laid on the treatment table and my partner began. Next thing I knew was my body was moving uncontrollably in different directions. I felt like I was falling off the table. My partner, bless her, I don’t remember her or her name was there guiding me and so was one of the assistants. It was the lightest, freest feeling I had ever felt. I left the seminar filled with joy and excitement as well as a deep sense of calm. Like a weight had been lifted. Unwinding is a natural phenomenon that occurs when the body is self correcting, and releasing trauma and tightness via the fascia. Everybody has the ability to unwind and most of us do while we sleep. Cats and dogs unwind all the time. They stretch, yawn, let out some noise, move, twist, shake. That is all unwinding. Unwinding is a key component to healing. I left the seminar feeling the magnitude of shifts in my body from that one unwinding experience.

Stay tuned for how I am using my own tools and techniques to heal from a current challenge. I’ll be sharing this in Part 3 of this series. Remember to never give up. Everybody can heal, it is our birthright! When we commit to fully healing it opens up the path and right information and guides show up for us.

    “It takes being brave to dive deep into different aspects of your life and go out of your comfort zone.” I so get this. And it’s so worth it. Thanks for this look into authentic healing.

    Unwinding…I must look this up. I know I often wake up to the feeling of my body shaking or trembling all over. Never knew why, I just sort of got used to it.
    Interesting material. And your client’s testimony is so helpful and sincere.
    Looking forward to part 3.
